Terms of Use

LAST UPDATED · JULY 10, 2026

These terms apply to the PlanShot iOS app ("the app"), provided by the developer of PlanShot ("we", "us"). By downloading or using the app you agree to them. If you got the app through Apple's App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies; where the two conflict, these terms govern to the extent permitted.

Your license

You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, in line with the App Store terms. You may not copy, modify, resell or reverse engineer the app except where the law allows it regardless of this restriction.

Your content is yours

Scans, floor plans, edits and exports you create with the app belong to you. You can use them for anything, including commercial work — client deliverables, listings, estimates. We claim no rights over them and, since they never reach our servers, we couldn't exercise any.

Measurements are estimates

PlanShot generates floor plans from Apple's RoomPlan scanning technology. Measurements are estimates: accuracy varies with lighting, surfaces, room size and how the space is scanned. The app is designed for layouts, documentation, listings and preliminary estimates — it is not a substitute for professional measurement or surveying. Always verify dimensions independently before relying on them for construction, fabrication, purchases of materials, legal descriptions or any decision where an error would be costly.

Acceptable use

Only scan spaces you are allowed to be in and to capture. You are responsible for complying with the laws that apply to you, including any that govern surveying or the professional use of measurements in your jurisdiction, and for how you present plans made with the app to others.

No warranty

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of results. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain warranty exclusions, so parts of this may not apply to you.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the app — including costs that follow from acting on inaccurate measurements — and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Changes

We may update the app and these terms over time. Material changes will be posted here with a new "last updated" date; continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
